Features That Make A Rock Garden Interesting

Living in the city, the last thing most people think about is a Chinese or Japanese-style rock garden. However, it is fast becoming a rewarding hobby for many urban dwellers. Being creative and finding ways to use what little green space they do have to their advantage.

Usually they preform research on line and discover there are two major types. The first being a European styled one. These gardens are unique in the fact that they require very little maintenance and the result is usually a beautiful chaos. The next type is an Asian styled one. Like art forms from Asia and especially Japan, these gardens require precision and dedication.

Limited space is an issue for people living in urban areas. With as little a three feet of space available for some. With this is mind a European styled garden is the best bet. They are less time consuming and require the use of natural stones that can vary in size, weight and color. This takes a lot of the pressure off when looking for materials in the city.

If someone lifestyle permits it. Then the Asian style may suit them just fine. It requires much more precision and constant tending than its counterpart. Making it a great for retired people and enthusiasts alike.

Making it not necessarily the best choice for a city person. Most of the plants and flowers used, are readily available for purchase at any local shop. The ones to look for will the ones that require the least maintenance. One tip is that, planting instructions usually come with each plant. If not a quick search on line will garner enough information for a successful planting.

If the staff isn't as informed as they should be, there are usually local clubs. Many of these people are experienced gardeners. Some of them are even professional landscapers and horticulturists. These professionals can give great advice for a fantastic European styled rock garden.
